Description
The EuroSea project, launched in November 2019, concludes its four-year journey with the release of its Legacy Report, a comprehensive overview of its contributions to the European Ocean Observing System (EOOS) and the wider global ocean knowledge network. This report showcases EuroSea’s transformative impact, from advancing the blue economy and enhancing Europe’s forecasting capabilities to strengthening collaboration through the Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS). It highlights a cohesive approach to ocean data that’s Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR)—critical for a sustainable blue economy.

Designed with clarity and accessibility in mind, the report presents the pioneering efforts of over 160 EuroSea experts across 53 organizations in 16 countries. This work illustrates not only technological progress but also the importance of sustained cooperation and coordinated action.

The EuroSea Legacy Report, published by EuroGOOS, captures a wealth of insights and best practices for advancing ocean science and setting the foundation for future marine projects.
